Early Life: Jason is a California native and grew up primarily in the Los Angeles area. He was born in Torrance, CA and lived in Sylmar until the age of 8 when his family moved to Santa Clarita. Jason attended Light and Life Christian School till 6th grade. Jason realized early on he felt at home on the stage. He performed in numerous school plays and participated in speech tournaments, but it wasn't until he attended Village Christian School between 7th-10th grade, that Jason began to realize his talent as an actor. High School: In 9th grade he landed his first role in a school play, 'Lillies of the Field'. Initially, he was cast in a supporting role, however he was eventually cast as one of the leads, Father Gomez, after a senior had to dropout of the production. He began to realize his love for impressions and voice acting after his classmate, Kelly Coleman had her father, legendary voice actor, Townsend Coleman, visit his drama class to talk about his career. Jason would do one more play while at Village, 'Peg O' My Heart'; however, after 10th grade, tuition costs and the commute took its toll on his family and Jason and his sister Heather transferred to their local public high school, William S. Hart High School. During his final two years of high school, Jason's love for acting blossomed, particularly under the tutelage of his Theater Arts teacher, David Sprague. Sprague saw Jason's potential as an actor and despite his short time at Hart, gave him many opportunities to flourish, casting him as Mr. DiPinna in 'You Can't Take It With You', Mayor Shinn in 'The Music Man', and Dr. Zubritizky in Neil Simon's 'Fools'. However, life would change dramatically in January 1994, half way through Jason's senior year, the Northridge earthquake damaged the Auditorium. Jason's family also suffered a great deal of damage to their house and because of insurance assessments he moved 3 times between Jan '94 and his graduation in June. His senior year also saw the addition of a new theater teacher, Donna Manfredi, who didn't see Jason in as favorable as a light as Sprague, and as a result, rather than getting an opportunity to have one last great role, his final high school production 'On Borrowed Time' saw Jason cast in a smaller supporting part of the Sheriff. He lost the lead to now musical writer/producer, Matt Gould. Because of the damage to the Auditorium, the play was performed in a student's backyard, which lent itself perfectly to the piece. With a smaller role in the show however, Jason decided to make the most of it and sought out the opportunity to be an Assistant Director for several of the scenes and thankfully, Sprague agreed. Jason was also highly active in his church growing up, and for a time heavily considered going into the ministry. However, after some soul-searching Jason realized pursuing the ministry, no matter how sincere, because of his talent and love of acting, would be, in the end, self-serving. - IMDb Mini Biography By: Jason Lewis
